 JP (designer) describes the process;

  • This piece is most representative of my style of mixing 90s denim culture with urban street style and culture.
  • We started off with a bit of a ‘heritage’ look with this velvet fabric which pertains to old-school menswear paired with the style and vibe that we champion which is more metropolitan and streetwear without forgetting our first love: denim.
  • We were extremely careful with the outsourcing of the denim fabric as well. We picked a 12-ounce fabric which is a very prestigious one. It’s also a selvage fabric and it’s produced here in Italy by one of the most important textile companies around the world.
  • We wanted to balance the denim fabric with the velvet on top of which we placed it. The use of this chequered fabric on the arms was aimed at aligning this piece with the rest of the capsule. We also used it as a base for our patchwork which we later applied to the garment. Specifically, the top was constructed separately before being applied to the jacket itself. We also tried to create a bigger shape and outlook with this top. We really wanted to emphasize that and give it an overall more ‘swollen’ shape.
  • The font we picked for our MILANOOH patchwork also took some thought as we wanted to again mix up old school and more contemporary styles. However, what’s cool about this patchwork is the reference to the rawness and edginess of our style: here you can see all the ripping and cuts we applied which took a good amount of hours.
  • This piece was clearly a tribute to our Italy and specifically to one of the most prestigious fashion capitals in the world, Milan so we decided to add our playful touch to it dub it MILANOOH! and create a piece that not only has an aesthetic story but also a meaning. Each one of our pieces reflects a specific feeling and this is what we got out of this one!
